‘Perishing’

2019

Following on from the art project with Katharine Hamnett, we further collaborated to create a Noki ‘Up-Fusion’ street couture collection called Perishing, for their ecommerce shop utilising KH dead stock production. We wanted to express the idea of Up-Fusion, as a positive, creative endeavour to amalgamate the values of both brands and as a modern juxtaposition of her original commercial 1980s ‘Diffusion’ line, defining sustainability as a force that creates value in one off pieces. Special thanks to Olly Walker from Ollystudio for curating the project.

The Per-i-shing Collection was inspired by subverting Katharine’s 1980s BBC T-shirt “58% Don’t Want Pershing” which she famously wore next to Prime Minster Margaret Thatcher.

If we don’t deal with sustainability we are all going to perish. The irony of the nuclear reference from that day hasn’t been lost, it’s just been updated.
