Punish the Streets Group Show for vFd

New Art Projects Gallery, December 2018

A group show celebrating a decade of vFd (Vogue Fabrics Dalston) highlighting the amazing influences that flow between club culture, art and fashion. The ‘Punish the Streets’ title refers to transgressive bodies and cultures that challenge norms. It describes a process that vFd, in one way or another has inspired, nurtured and cultivated in the last 10 years. vFd is a collective, a plot, a movement, a subject and a culture. The exhibition brought together a number of people who have long been at the centre of vFd’s history, some who have passed through and others who continue to shape it.

My installation was called “4 Skins in a Sustainable Game by a Shoreditch Raver”. I custom built 4 jump suits that in a real world game you could jump into, zip up and actually live and breathe within a sustainable textile existence. Here i was referencing the modern addiction that gamers are experiencing by purchasing skins for their avatars in cleverly designed drop boxes.
