Shwopping with Oxfam, M&S and Joanna Lumley
May 2012
Oxfam commissioned a series of working studio projects bringing together practitioners in fabric sustainability, as part of the Shwopping campaign, together with Marks & Spencer, Plan A Doing the Right Thing and the Centre for Sustainable Fashion (LCoF). The project aimed to show people how old, thrown away clothes can be re-used for new garments or accessories and to raise the awareness of the sheer volume of textiles being thrown away into global landfill. Joanna Lumley was the project ambassador.
So happy to engage here with the bigger picture, dealing with the bigger problems for the bigger political agenda, going modernist forward.
